Recreation Programs

New Minas Recreation has plenty of exciting programs for young and old alike. Most programs take place at the Louis Millet Community Complex, located at 9489 Commercial Street.

Please note that all classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and once classes are filled we will not be able to take more registrations. All classes require a minimum number of participants to run.  While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, programs and program times are subject to change.  For any open gym related activities, please be familiar with our Open Gym Rules.

Village of New Minas March Break Day Camp

New Minas Recreation offers a safe and fun environment for campers, ages 5-13 this  March Break! We enjoy a wide variety of activities - games, 20170818 092745trips, arts & crafts, movies and more, all under the direction of our qualified and dedicated staff!  Come spend your March Break with New Minas Rec!Junior Camp:  Ages 5-8, max 25Senior Camp:  Ages 9-13, max 25 MUST REGISTER ONLINE AT NEWMINAS.COM.  Registration opens January 21, 2018
 


Youth Multi-Sport (Registration to open mid-January)

Series of fun classes to help keep kids active through the winter.  
Sessions will include soccer, baseball, badminton and more.

For the Boys
This free after school program is designed to enhance physical activity and social well-being in male youth. The program is for 9-14 year olds in the Kings County area. Each youth will be paired with a male Acadia University student. The program runs for 8 weeks, starting January 26th, with each evening filled with different activities.

Fun with Food
Would you like to learn great new recipes that are healthy and nutritious? Looking to prepare snacks and meals on a budget and things that your children will eat? Join us at Fun with Food to explore new recipes and to cook with your child.
This is a parent – child interactive group.

Prenatal
We offer a prenatal program for expectant women. You will receive information to help you become prepared for the weeks and months ahead. A few things we cover are: what to expect during each trimester, what you need to help keep you and your baby healthy, and what to anticipate during delivery. Our prenatal program is offered in a comfortable atmosphere with many opportunities to connect with other expectant mothers.

Rhyme Time

Children are naturally inclined to explore and get messy!! So let’s help them along! Bring your child out to explore various art forms and sensory opportunities. This program is a parent-child interactive group. All ages welcome.

Come out with your family to a great night of movement and enjoyment. This is time for all family members to get active and enjoy spending time together. All ages and abilities are welcome.
